About Daniel

I am a psychoanalytic psychotherapist in private practice, offering both short-term and open ended therapy. My practice is based at AGIP (The Association of Group and Individual Psychotherapy) in Archway, North London.

I offer a safe and confidential space in which to explore the difficulties you are facing in a way that is supportive and non-judgemental.

Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy

Working psychoanalytically means focusing on the unconscious. We are not always aware of the whys and wherefores of our actions, of what motivates us to feel or behave a certain way. Shedding light on your unconscious fears and desires may enable you to understand yourself better and in doing so, take greater responsibility for the changes you want to make, which may lead to a more enriched experience of the world in which you live. Although speaking freely and openly, sometimes for the first time, can be scary and at times painful, it can also be creative and enjoyable.

Sessions & Fees

Initially we would meet to discuss why you have sought therapy. I realise that this first step can often feel difficult and I will do my best to support you. If after this first session you feel that you would like to arrange another then we would arrange a session for the same time and day each week. Sessions last 50 minutes. This session would then become yours for as long as you want it. My standard fee for daytime appointments at AGIP is £65. I reserve a limited number of places for those on low incomes, benefits, in education or in training. In these cases we will agree a fee that you can afford.

Experience & Qualifications

I gained a Master’s degree in psychoanalysis at Middlesex University before undertaking a full four year post-graduate psychoanalytic psychotherapy training with The Guild of Psychotherapists. I am a full clinical member of the UKCP (United Kingdom Council of Psychotherapists) and a member of The Guild of Psychotherapists. Membership of both of these organisations means that I have undertaken a nationally recognised training, that I am connected to an organisation with a structured complaints procedure and that I adhere to an established code of ethics.

I have also worked as a long-term counsellor for Barnet Mind and as an Honorary Psychotherapist with the psychiatry liaison team at Barnet hospital.
